TikTok Shop fulfilment in the UK means getting every order packed, handed to a carrier and tracked inside the dispatch window TikTok sets in Seller Center. You can ship orders yourself, print TikTok's integrated carrier labels, send stock to Fulfilled by TikTok, or connect a 3PL to your shop. Whichever you pick, TikTok scores you on speed and tracking, and one creator video can bring a week of orders in an afternoon.

This guide covers the metrics, the shipping options, spike planning and returns. TikTok updates its seller policies often, so check every window and threshold in Seller Center before you plan around it.

The pain points

  • A creator posts on a Friday night, a week of orders lands by Sunday, and half of them go out late.

  • The late dispatch rate jumps and your products drop out of campaigns.

  • You sell stock you no longer have because the shop and the warehouse are out of sync.

  • You book a LIVE session and the hero product sells out twenty minutes in.

  • Returns pile up in a corner, and refunds go through before anyone has checked the item.

The rules TikTok measures you on

TikTok Shop UK tracks a set of fulfilment metrics for every seller. Since 4 November 2024, the UK late dispatch rate has been measured from the moment you mark an order Ready to Ship, and the dispatch window is counted in working days. The main metrics are:

  • Late dispatch rate: the share of orders that miss the dispatch window.

  • Valid tracking rate: for Ship by Seller orders, the share with a tracking number the carrier actually scans.

  • Seller fault cancellation rate: orders you cancel, usually because the stock was gone.

  • On-time delivery rate: the share of parcels that reach the customer by the promised date.

These feed your Shop Performance Score and your Account Health Rating. A breach can bring penalty points, lower visibility, removal from campaigns or limits on order volume. TikTok publishes the target and the enforcement level for each metric and has changed them more than once, so check the current figure in Seller Center. In early 2026 TikTok Shop announced, then paused, a plan to move US sellers onto its own logistics services, so read every UK shipping announcement too.

Choosing your shipping set-up

  • Ship by Seller: you or your 3PL pick the carrier and upload a valid tracking number. You keep your own carrier rates, and your valid tracking rate depends on carrier scans at collection.

  • Ship by TikTok: you print labels for TikTok's integrated carriers from Seller Center. The labels and tracking come from the platform, and you still own picking, packing and the dispatch clock.

  • Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT): TikTok launched FBT in the UK in August 2023. It stores, picks, packs and ships your stock, for merchants based in the UK delivering to UK addresses. At launch TikTok capped each shipment at 30 kg or 31.5 cubic litres and charged for warehousing, shipping and extras such as labelling and pre-packing. The current rate card sits in Seller Center. Ask whether FBT stock can fill your Shopify or Amazon orders. If it cannot, you are running two separate stock pools.

  • A 3PL: your warehouse partner connects to TikTok Shop directly, or through your Shopify store or order management system. One stock pool serves every channel. Our guide to Shopify 3PL integration covers the sync points to test.

Planning for a viral spike

Spikes arrive with little warning, so plan before the video goes out.

  • Share the creator calendar with your warehouse. Paid creator posts, affiliate pushes and LIVE sessions all have dates. Send them to your 3PL a week ahead with a rough order forecast.

  • Ring-fence stock for LIVE sessions and campaigns. Hold a set quantity of the hero product for the session, and set a safety buffer so the listing shows sold out before the warehouse is empty.

  • Check how often stock syncs. A sync that runs every hour can oversell hundreds of units during a busy LIVE. Ask your 3PL or app how often stock updates reach TikTok Shop, and whether it pushes changes as they happen.

  • Know your cut-off times. Ask for the daily order cut-off for same-day dispatch, the last carrier collection time, and whether the site picks on Saturdays. The dispatch window counts working days, and a weekend surge still lands on Monday.

  • Agree surge capacity in writing. Ask how many extra orders a day the site can take with notice, how much notice it needs, and what it charges for overtime. Our guide to questions to ask a 3PL has more to put on the list.

  • Pre-pack the hero product so each order only needs a label.

Handling TikTok Shop returns

TikTok sets the return window and the refund rules in its UK return and refund policy, and customers also keep their statutory right to cancel most online orders within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. TikTok can refund the customer automatically when a seller does not respond in time, so returns need a fast routine. Agree with your 3PL how quickly it books in, grades and restocks a return, and who answers the return request in Seller Center. Our guide to returns policy costs shows how to price that work.

Our recommendation: put TikTok orders through one stock pool with a spike plan

  1. Read the current shipping policy and the metric targets in Seller Center, and write the dispatch window on your warehouse brief.

  2. Choose Ship by Seller or Ship by TikTok for your 3PL orders, and confirm which carriers scan reliably at collection.

  3. Connect TikTok Shop to the same stock pool as your other channels, and test stock sync speed with a live order.

  4. Set a stock buffer on fast sellers and ring-fence units for each LIVE session.

  5. Share your creator and LIVE calendar with the warehouse every week.

  6. Agree surge capacity, Saturday picking and the order cut-off in writing.

  7. Set a returns routine with a named owner for Seller Center requests.

When you compare providers, use the pillar guide on how to choose a 3PL for ecommerce in the UK as your checklist.

What waiting costs

A late dispatch rate climbs fast in a spike, and the penalties land after the orders have gone. Take an invented example. These figures are made up to show the method. A shop normally ships 60 orders a day, and its team can hand-pack 150 a day at most. A video brings 1,200 orders over a weekend. At 150 a day, the last of them leave eight working days later, and most miss the dispatch window. The late dispatch rate jumps, the shop loses campaign places and its next video reaches fewer people. A warehouse that packs 1,200 orders in two days keeps that weekend inside the rules. Onboarding a 3PL usually takes several weeks, so the time to arrange it is before the next creator post.
