Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) lets UK sellers show the Prime badge on orders they ship from their own warehouse or a 3PL's. Amazon's UK SFP page in 2026 still offers enrolment. It asks for a Professional account, a domestic warehouse, Amazon Buy Shipping on at least 98% of orders, approved SFP carriers, on-time shipping above 99% and a cancellation rate below 0.5%. You pass a trial first, and the badge goes live once you do.

Amazon tightened SFP delivery speed targets in the US from 6 July 2026. Reports of that change cover the US marketplace only, and we found no matching UK announcement as of October 2026. Check the SFP page in Seller Central for the targets that apply to your UK account.

The pain points

  • Our FBA stock ran out in the fourth quarter and we lost the Prime badge for weeks.

  • FBA fees make our bulky products barely profitable, and without the badge they hardly sell.

  • We can't staff our own unit at weekends.

  • Our courier collects at 2pm, so we miss the cut-off on half our orders.

  • We failed the trial once and still don't know which metric tipped it.

What Amazon asks for in the UK

The Amazon UK Seller Fulfilled Prime page lists these conditions:

  • A Professional selling plan, which the page lists at £25 a month excluding VAT, plus selling fees.

  • A domestic warehouse to fulfil orders from.

  • Amazon Buy Shipping for at least 98% of Prime orders.

  • Delivery through the supported SFP carriers.

  • On-time shipping above 99%.

  • An order cancellation rate below 0.5%.

  • The Amazon Returns Policy, with Amazon handling customer service enquiries.

Cut-off and weekend rules came in through Amazon's UK SFP update effective 30 June 2021. Sellers had to set a weekday carrier pick-up no earlier than 16:30, which puts the order cut-off at 16:00. They also had to use ship methods with pick-ups on at least one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday. The same update let sellers add up to 10 ship-from addresses to the Prime shipping template. Check the current settings in Seller Central before you plan around them.

Amazon also measures tracking and delivery performance on seller-fulfilled orders. Check the current UK targets in Seller Central, because your set-up has to hit them every week.

How the trial works

Amazon requires a trial before enrolment. During it, your orders must ship with zero-day handling time, and the Prime badge does not show on your listings. Pass the trial and Amazon enrols you automatically, and your products then carry the badge.

Amazon's UK page does not state the trial length or the number of orders needed. Check the trial terms in Seller Central when you apply. If your metrics later drop below the bar, Amazon can revoke SFP eligibility, and getting it back means passing the trial again.

Why brands run SFP through a 3PL

The hard parts of SFP are operational: a late cut-off, weekend dispatch and carriers that connect to Buy Shipping. A 3PL already runs those for other clients, so you buy into a working set-up.

  • Cut-off times. A 3PL with late carrier collections can accept orders until 16:00 and still ship the same day.

  • Carrier accounts. It already ships with carriers that work through Buy Shipping, and it can show you its on-time record with them.

  • Weekend operation. It staffs a shift and books a collection on the weekend day Amazon requires.

  • One stock pool. The same units serve Amazon Prime orders, your own site and other marketplaces, so you avoid splitting stock into FBA.

  • Peak capacity. Amazon limits FBA inbound slots at year end. SFP stock in a 3PL stays outside that queue.

What to ask the 3PL

  • Which SFP carriers do you ship with through Amazon Buy Shipping, and how do labels get bought for my orders?

  • What is your weekday order cut-off and carrier collection time?

  • Which weekend days do you pick, pack and get collected, and what does weekend work cost?

  • What on-time shipping and cancellation rates have your SFP clients recorded over the last three months?

  • How fast does stock sync to Amazon, so a sold-out item gets pulled before it causes a cancellation?

  • How do you staff for Prime Day, Black Friday and December?

For the wider checklist, see our guide to questions to ask a 3PL.

Our recommendation: prove the set-up before the trial

  1. Check your eligibility and your current seller-fulfilled metrics in Seller Central.

  2. Choose the products for SFP. Bulky items, slow sellers and lines that run out in FBA are the usual candidates.

  3. Get the 3PL's carrier list, cut-off, collection times and weekend days in writing, and add them to the contract.

  4. Ship ordinary seller-fulfilled orders through the set-up for several weeks with zero-day handling. Track on-time shipping and cancellations against Amazon's thresholds.

  5. Start the trial once those numbers have held for a few weeks, ideally in a quiet trading period.

  6. Keep FBA running for your fastest sellers as a fallback while SFP beds in.

Our guide to choosing a 3PL covers the rest of the selection process.

What waiting costs

Amazon's FBA peak fulfilment fee runs from 15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027, and year-end inbound slots are limited. Brands relying only on FBA for Prime carry both risks through December.

A failed metric costs the badge, and the trial has to be passed again to get it back. Starting the trial in the run-up to Christmas puts that risk on your busiest weeks.

Take an invented example. A product sells 20 units a day with the Prime badge and 8 without it, at £6 margin a unit. Two weeks without the badge cost about £1,000 in margin. Proving the set-up in January and starting the trial in a quieter month keeps that risk away from peak.

People Also Ask

Is Seller Fulfilled Prime still open in the UK?

Amazon's UK SFP page in 2026 lists the programme with an option to enrol. Eligibility depends on your account and your seller-fulfilled performance, so check the SFP section of Seller Central for your status.

How long is the Seller Fulfilled Prime trial?

Amazon's UK page does not give a length or an order count. It says trial orders must ship with zero-day handling and that you are enrolled automatically once you pass. Check the current trial terms in Seller Central when you apply.

Can a 3PL ship Seller Fulfilled Prime orders?

Yes. Amazon asks for a domestic warehouse, and a 3PL's site can be your ship-from address. The 3PL has to meet the same cut-off, weekend, carrier and Buy Shipping rules, and the metrics count against your account.
